Pickup Soccer Games in New York City

I’ve been playing at Foss Park in Somerville for the past two years and have participated in over 25 games. The community here is fantastic, and the games are always well-organized and fun. The environment is welcoming, and it’s a great way to stay active and meet new people. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy soccer and make new friends, I highly recommend joining us at Foss Park!

I have had great experiences with the volleyball sessions I have been to and have been able to improve my skills while also meeting new people. The hosts have been helpful in answering my questions and I see myself using Goodrec as my primary source for indoor volleyball.

I always had trouble finding good pick up games, but not anymore with this app! The games hosted via this app are always organized — Pinnies are provided, everyone shows up, nice field, good goals, starts on time. The support team are also there to make sure you will smoothly join the games. This is the to-go app for finding soccer games in your area!

It may not have alot of downloads But this is Amazing App to use for Philadelphia Sports events you can attend to! It may not look like a luxurious app but it's very simple to use. I like that I can Find people who want to play soccer instead of struggling to convince my friends to play a game. This is Amazing.

I live in NYC and have been looking for competitive pick-up volleyball games for a few years now, GoodRec has been the answer. Games are great, facilities are great, and price is reasonable. Would recommend highly.

The hosts that goodrec selects for their games have made getting back into Volleyball in a new city so much fun! Being able to go out to a game and find new friends has made my experience in my new city so much better!

This app is really amazing! I love to meet new people and play soccer with players who share similar passion. I really love that people don’t discriminate based on skill level. Everyone is welcome to join and play multiple games which is great.

If you can't commit to playing organized league soccer, thus us a great way to find an organized pickup match when you can.

I use GoodRec for volleyball in NYC. There’s several sessions every night of the week at all skill levels. The quality control to respect each skill level is pretty good, as hosts can flag players who don’t quite fit the level for a given drop in. For example, I tried an advanced session when I wasn’t quite ready for it a year or two ago and the host flagged me. Then management reached out to me and offered a credit to check out a high intermediate session for free in a very encouraging and respectful way - suggesting that I gain confident on the court and strengthen basic skills. That being said, once I improved over a few months I was able to sign up for advanced sessions so it’s not like they blacklist you or anything. I haven’t attended any clinics yet but they’re always sold out and coached by a guy who played collegiate - I’ve had him as a coach at a different volleyball org and I know from that experience that his clinics are probably valuable. Finally, management is constantly reaching out promoting clinics and other volleyball opportunities, as well as reaching out for feedback which they seem to genuinely respond to and consider. Overall I think the format of the GoodRec drop ins is high quality (14 players and often some people don’t show so it’s easy to do 6s, whereas some other volleyball orgs have 24 people so you’re on for two and off for one throughout the session). Management is responsive and I’ve had positive experiences with all the hosts so far. Glad to have GoodRec in NYC!

Good rec is a good way to meet people in a new city and play competitively. The advanced sections of volleyball in NYC are always enjoyable! And it’s a great balance of social and competition.
